Playing With Photoshop

color isolated cupcake

Messing around on Photoshop has become a time consuming hobby of mine, whether colorizing black and white pictures or learning how to edit and post-process photographs.  It's still early in the learning curve, but the results are already apparent I hope!

Upcoming Life Drawing Sessions

Drawing by Judy Martin

So another thing I would like to do is advertise the life drawing sessions I will be modelling at, and the organizations and classes that put them on.  If you are an artist or instructor and would like me to advertise for or model at your class, please contact me!

I will be at Harcourt House (located downtown) a couple times in the next few weeks.  Check them out, they have regular drop in sessions for both drawing and sculpting, as well as running classes for all levels of artists.   There is a small fee involved, but it is affordable and well worth it!

My upcoming sessions at Harcourt House are :

Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 7 - 10 pm ;
Drop in figure drawing - starts with gestural poses, leading into longer poses.

Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 1 - 4 pm ;
Long pose figure drawing or painting - a single three hour pose for the duration of the session.

Also, The Paint Spot just off Whyte Ave is going to run a figure drawing class as well.  Sign up soon, the first class is January 23rd!

My upcoming session at The Paint Spot is:

Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 6 - 9 pm ;
Drawing From the Figure with Daniel Hackborn - instruction and fundamentals of figure drawing

Hello Internets!

Hello Internets!

Let me introduce myself, and this, my very first blog.

I am Paul.

I am a father, husband, amateur photographer, photoshopper, and semi professional art model, living near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

I named my blog the Paul E. Blog, but I really wanted to name it PollyWog.  That was a nickname my Aunt gave me when I was a young lad.  But I quickly learned how difficult it is to be original on the internet in this day and age...

I hope to share my life, my photos, my "art", and anything else I can with you.  I will be starting a 365 project soon, posting an original Paul E. Blog photo a day for a year.   I will post the incredible creations of local artists in the Edmonton area and share their links with you.  I also colorize black and white photos, and will certainly share some of them too.

I'm excited to see where this goes!
